- Abstract
- en_US Here is a copy published seven years earlier than two copies already in the collection. This little (3›"x5¼") pamphlet of 30 pages is a favorite of mine for its excellent illustrations. Oval in form, they are 2" x 2". Several -- like DM (5), FG (25), and DS (28) -- are as detailed as a fine Bewick illustration. Others are less detailed. Croxall is the source of some of the texts, like "The Wolf and the Kid" (26), though the application is considerably shortened here. Pages 9-10 are missing. The cover of this copy has the number "1231" where the other two copies have "1386." This pamphlet is a gracious gift of Dan Hatch. The pamphlet had belonged to his grandmother, born in 1869, given to her on her 12th birthday. How nice to be thought of as a place to keep this book for other generations to come!
