- Abstract
- en_US This little (3¼" x 5¼") book, which once belonged to M.O. Bailey of the Monitorial School, has a full-page frontispiece of Florian, working apparently at the foot of a statue of the Muse. It offers, about every twelve pages, a set of five or six small and rather rudimentary illustrations of the fables. Perhaps most curious among them is the illustration of the crocodile eating a child (169). I can find no other information on this book. Illustrations appear facing 33, 47, 61, 78, 92, 102, 120, 124, 129, 143, 154, 163, 169, and 183. There is a long introduction "De la Fable" (4-32) without attribution. The front cover is coming loose.
