- Abstract
- en_US Having time in Europe allowed me to plunder Medimops. One evening at the computer in Antwerp delivered ten books to the Kuhn Family for less than 50 Euros. I picked them up there and brought them back. Here is one of those inexpensive treasures. This little (5" x 7") book of 80 pages offers an abundance of colored pictures in a creative style for its 23 fables. As the back cover boasts, "They're all here…. The only thing missing is you!" The chagrined crow sits on a branch with a microphone attached to it (7). The wolf looms wonderfully over the unsuspecting lamb (9). We look from inside the ant's house at the cicada on the snow (19). Perrete's pot is like a cap pulled down over her ears (20). The lively interpreting goes on, fable after fable. Do not miss the image of the wolf rushing away from the guard-dog's unfree life (28-29) or the crane's lonely insertion of its head inside the wolf's jaws (36-37).
