- Abstract
- en_US This paperback has two surprising features. First, it offers one short fable per page from 9 to 114, as the closing T of C shows. The second surprise comes in the eight full-page colored illustrations by A. Saló, whose work has not yet appeared in this collection. These illustrations, which do not always face their texts, are good and they are sometimes dedicated to lesser-known fables: DM; "The Stag at the Water"; "The Eagle, Crow, and Turtle"; "Juno and the Peacock"; "The Cat Playing Dead"; "The Sick Lion and the Fox"; "The Lion in Love"; and FS. My prize goes to "The Lion in Love," a lion's head with a human body all dressed up to impress.
