- Abstract
- en_US Despite the title, there are really three stories in this 32-page comic book. The third, "The Right Moment," is only two pages long. From my limited knowledge, these are typical Jatakas. The first praises initiative and enterprise by telling of a merchant who started with one dead mouse and amassed a fortune, with a rich wife besides. The second tells of a poor man who saved one coin and hid it cleverly in a brick wall. He thought himself a rich man because of it. As he ran to get it despite great heat -- in order to celebrate with his wife -- the king saw him running and was desperately curious. The king wanted his treasure and kept offering more for it -- up to the point where the king offered half of his kingdom. The man chose the half with his treasured coin in it. About six panels per page. 7" x 9½".
