- Abstract
- en_US The title-page continues "Avec la Traduction Littérale en Français." There is a curious story behind the purchase of this paperback book of 67 pages. Earlier I found a pamphlet in the dialect of Nimes -- "Li Dos Saouço" -- and had trouble deciphering it. Then I came across this offering by the same author, with fables and "literal translations in French" and figured that I had found a way to understand my little pamphlet's text. Two things about this unillustrated book became immediately clear to me. First, these five fables are unusually long; the first takes more than five pages. Secondly, "Li Dos Saouço" is not one of these five fables. The good news for the collection is that we now have two books representing our twenty-second dialect!
