- Abstract
- en_US What we have here is a single page with Pfeffel's text on the right and Hirsch's wood-engraving on the left. The wood-engraving is highly detailed. A bear with a snout resembling that of a crocodile seems to be exulting. At his feet is a fox or, better said, what seem to be portions of a fox. Along the ground one makes out a fox-head, apparently with a metal trap collar around the neck. I have trouble identifying the other portions of the fox. Has he already been torn apart by the bear? If so, it would illustrate dramatically the "verzehren" announced by the bear. Not in Bodemann. 8" x 11¾".
