- Abstract
- en_US There are two elements in this large-format (8½" x 10¾") book of 67 heavy-stock pages. As to the latter segment, I had not realized that there are fully 13 fables about rats among La Fontaine's many fables. Clément's artistry places a rat in or around each title, often letting the rat's body and/or tail be a portion of the fable's title. About the first part, I only surveyed this piece offering a trial of a large group of rats. Dansel's declared purpose is to experience things for once not from the human side but from the rats' side. The report of the trial runs from 9 to 30.
