- Abstract
- en_US This landscape-formatted book of 24 pages has presented me with a real surprise. Title and cover illustration -- including a frog sitting on a rabbit's head -- had me thinking it was about stories I had never learned before. Examining the monochrome images and translating snatches of text made me aware of what the epilogue states clearly: these are stories taken from the Jewish "Fox Fables" and from KD. The stories include "Regulated Sacrifice"; LM; FM; BF; TT; "Three Fish"; and "Rabbits Considering Migrating." There seems to be one story about a magic egg that is new to me. FM is differently told in that the frog cuts the thread in open water, meaning to drown the mouse. The eagle snatches just the frog, and the mouse somehow swims to safety. 9⅜" x 8¾".
