- Abstract
- en_US One cover is loose and the other is missing. The surprise in this complete edition of the fables lies in the illustrations. There are some eleven illustrations. The six thin-papered, pliant illustrations, including the frontispiece portrait, are by Le Rat. The five stiff illustrations are by various artists. In these two volumes, each illustration happens during the specific fable it illustrates. Between the pages of notes at the end of the volume and the T of C, there is a glossary and an AI.
