- Abstract
- en_US This is a book for cat-lovers! It includes one Aesopic fable and several Bierce fables, and so I include it here. The Aesopic fable can easily be missed on 31-32, It is a good telling of the cat who suspended herself head-down from a peg in the closet wall. She also somehow uses a torn pillow case. One old gaffer mouse says Many a bag have I seen in my day, but never one with a cat's head at the bottom of it (31-32). Ambrose Bierce has three of his fables on 72, though the first two are pushed together: The Cat and the King; CW; and The Cat Physician. The array of colored cat-illustrations found here is quite surprising!
