Abstract

en_US The hare is such a boaster that the female tortoise cannot take it from him, though he is a friend. The owl judges. The hare stops just before the finish line to wait for the tortoise. Slow and steady often wins the race (emphasis added by me). I will keep the second copy in the collection because it has a sharper title-page illustration.
