Abstract

en_US Six Aesopic fables again well told for children. The pattern continues: fable, moral, comments, retelling, activity. Again, the texts are very suitable for telling the fables to children. There is a nice stroke in having the goose's first egg be golden (3). I think the activities here are better than those in Volume I: golden goose bank, thank you cards after FC, division of tasks for kids and grown-ups after LM. The author is again forced to fudge, this time on the moral and comment of GB: We sometimes think we are more important than others think we are. SOMETIMES we think we are more important than we are. THEN sometimes we don't feel as important as we should. BUT we are all important and worthy of respect (24). If I were a kid, I think I would be lost at this point! Again, there is a simple Land of Aesop centerfold featuring the characters of this volume's stories.
