- Abstract
- en_US Here are twenty-five fables on 50 pages after nine pages of introduction. Each fable gets two pages: the English and Spanish texts on one and a full-page colored illustration on the other. The Spanish title is, curiously, Apprende inglés con los fábulas de Esopo. The art is what we used to call modern art; that is, it is somewhat non-representative. The art usually pictures a single character rather than an event. The best of the illustrations are the miser (23), the sick lion (24), the mice and weasels (34), FG (39), and the boy and hazelnuts (53) . . In GA, the ants scold the grasshopper: those who sing all summer must dance to bed without supper in the winter (12).
