- Abstract
- en_US This sixteen-page two-staple pamphlet (9¼" x 6¼") has simple drawings and error-laden prose to tell a rather strange version of this story of a cat's cleverness. First, this cat does not look much like a cat! He uses a successful ploy: hanging himself from the ceiling. The mice think him punished and dead. "The cat jumped down and he ate some of the cats and injured some others." Proofreader, wake up! He ate mice, not cats! This version goes on to offer as a second episode a variant of this fable, in which the cat covers himself with flour. According to this version of the story, the trick does not work.
