- Abstract
- en_US This is a fascinating book of some 52 fables, either one or two pages per fable. The French and English, both in rhyming couplets, face each other on left and right pages, respectively. The fables are both clever and accessible. The poet is apparently famous for children's literature, and the book fits that view. Any good fable also talks to adults. People wanting to find a charming example of both the art and the wit here should read "La Taupe et la Vache/The Mole and the Cow" on 26-27. Many animals here wear shoes.
