- Abstract
- en_US The texts and illustrations are apparently identical with the pamphlet version I have listed under the same title under the year 1980? For convenience's sake, I will reproduce those short comments here. Ten simple fairy tales, sometimes quite sentimental, with heavy morals about obeying parents, being courteous, and working before playing. The Kids and the Wolf (16) is closest to a standard fairy tale. In The Good Tubing (19), the bear is trapped in the wedge by his intended victim, Grandfather Souchek. Dwarves give Peter a cap that renders him invisible (22). He may eat all he wants, but he may not take any food with him. The best of the simple illustrations may be that of the hen with her feet up in the air (27).
