- Abstract
- en_US This little book includes the same versions of the fourteen well chosen fables as the 1990 edition done in the same format by Running Press. See my comments there. This edition adds some recent creative art in the form of three images per fable. Small images precede the fable and accompany the moral, respectively. They are in fact details excerpted from the one full-page illustration in the midst of each fable. I find the final images particularly well chosen. The best of the illustrations might be the first, TMCM (11). I notice this time the fine moral to GGE: Greed destroys the source of good (25). The introduction begins with a bold sentence: If there is a common thread in the experience of chldren everywhere, it is Aesop's fables.
