Abstract: en_US Here is a heavy 684-page tome that seems to have all of La Fontaine's works, starting with the fables. It is larger than my 1854 Fables et Oeuvres Diverses de J. La Fontaine by the same editor and from the same publisher. Leather with marbled boards, with the same engraved portrait frontispiece after Hopwood, and an AI of the fables within an overall T of C. I also have Walckenaer editions of 1839 and 1910. The fables seem complete; they have footnotes. This book belonged to Howard Baker, as Peter Howard hastened to point out to me.
