Abstract

en_US This book is rightly labeled a Nacherzählung, since it follows quite faithfully the information in a tenth-century Greek life of Aesop. Schädlich chooses wisely and well among the information there, to judge from the first third of this book that I have read. Aesop comes off the feisty, earthly, sexual, gifted figure that the tradition of that life represents. This is a well-made little book of 90 pages.
