- en_US A hefty paperback. In analysing this book I have realized that La Fontaine's original book was titled Selected Fables, so my search here to see what was left out was futile! The black-and-white reproductions are only average in execution, but they cover excellent material, including three Oudry tapestries and the title page and four illustrations by Chauveau from the original 1868 edition. I could have sworn that I had this book, but I imagine there are many inexpensive and comprehensive editions of La Fontaine's fables.
