- Abstract
- en_US This hardy paperback has survived for a long time! It has 184 pages, divided into "Fábulas en Prosa" and "Fábulas en Verso." The break, noted in the closing T of C, is not noted in the text. Within that division, fables are grouped by author, given at the top of the page at the section beginning but not otherwise noted. Some fables -- or authors? -- have highlighted morals. At the of Tolstoy's "El Ciervo," we find this: "Toda desgracia es una lección. No hay rosas sin espinas. El hombre es para el hombre un espejo." (22). One finds here a wide array of texts, including many writers -- especially Spanish-language writers, who are new to me. It surprises me to see "Juan de la Fontaine"! This book will be a treasurehouse for those seeking the widest number of fable texts and authors.
