- Abstract
- en_US I knew I had a second copy of this book, and now that I see that it is the second edition, though still in the publication year of 1998. For this copy, let me write what I wrote last summer. I have read the first two pieces and the introduction. That is enough for me to know that Drewermann is offering something quite different from fables in the traditional sense. He seems to think that this genre, by the way, is dead -- but that fables, in his new and especially psychological sense, are quite alive. These are highly reflective personal experiences of animals which allow valuable reflection on human reactions that are just like those of the animals in question: a parakeet and a pet dog, in the first two stories.
