Abstract: en_US This is a rarity: a collection of Italian fables published in England. It is intended, as the very wordy title-page points out, for the use of students. It contains sixty-two fables on 95 pages. Many vocabulary words are explained just after each fable. The book starts with a bilingual prologue on facing left and right pages. Except perhaps for the unusual preliminary fable, set between the prolog and the work, the fables are the standard Aesopic fables in the tradition. This is a wonderful little find, surprisingly well preserved over 180 years!
