- Abstract
- en_US Forty-one literary pieces. It can be hard to know where one genre leaves off and the other begins, for example in The Lament of the Carrion Crows (26). Morland's world seems dark. The book speaks frankly of wartime experience. The best pieces include The Lion and the Chameleon (8), The White Elephant (9), The Sensitive Skunk (32), Tools (39), Sweet, Take Care! (54), and Near is my Shirt, But Nearer is my Skin (74). Kapp's work seems best to me when she works with human subjects.
