- en_US Aesop's fables are the backbone of this classroom reader: some twenty-eight are presented. The maid (22) carried eggs rather than milk! And She counted her chickens before they were hatched! The book is enhanced with a colored picture of the lark and field (18), some nice engravings, and some simpler pictures with the fables. A good example of turn-of-the century school use of Aesop. The good copy from Avenue Victor Hugo is in excellent condition.
