- Abstract
- en_US This story is brand new to me. Little Lucy, who loses things, loses a handkerchief. Her search for it brings her to the diminutive home of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, a self-proclaimed excellent clothes washer. Among the wash, she finds not only her handkerchief but other items that have been lost recently. Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle dries and irons all sorts of things for all sorts of local animals. She delivers them and then, as she scrambles back towards home, Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle turns out to be a hedgehog. We are quite far from fable in this story.
