- en_US This inexpensive book with an illustration of the wolf playing a horn for the lamb on its boards cover turns out to represent the plates used in my apparent first edition of Jack Orr's Aesop's Fables, which I have listed under 1927? Please see my extensive comments there, especially on the best of Orr's black-and-white illustrations. There is only one colored illustration here: the frontispiece, The Thieves and the Cook. Someone has written FABL in heavy ink on the cover. If the outside of this book is in only fair condition, the inside is in very good condition.
