- Abstract
- en_US It is good to get something from the Jesuits' long-time competitors! This standard Catholic second reader contains four fables, two of them with surprise softening twists at the end. In FS (82) a while after the joke had been replayed, the stork poured out half of her food for the fox. I never saw that before! The fox was so ashamed that to this day he has never looked anyone in the face! I have not seen that turn of events either! In The Donkey and the Salt (124), the master similarly helped the unhappy donkey laden with dripping sponges. The Deer, the Water, and the Lion (99) and FC (144) are told in standard fashion.
