Abstract: en_US This reprint enlarges the original 1952 Everyman edition in crown octavo. The margins have grown, and the paper has improved in quality. Here is what I wrote on the 1952 edition: Dent/Dutton take over the text and preface that Marsh had published through Heinemann in 1931. It is good to have his lively tellings in this compact format without illustration. I did not know that the Everyman Library included LaFontaine. Marsh apparently published his first La Fontaine fables in 1925 (Forty-Two Fables of La Fontaine). His text was also used with Marie Angel's art in 1979 (Fables de la Fontaine, Neugebauer, 1979/81).
