- Abstract
- en_US This series of four booklets may be my first find from East Africa. This volume has five folktales with one illustration apiece. The tales are not fables in the Aesopic sense. The Lucky Ones gives a different interpretation of the origin of zebras from the fifth story in the seventh volume of this series. The third story here tells an engaging story of the capture of an elephant by making him think that he is king. The fourth represents some good African sensitivities, specifically against hurry and impatience, lack of foresight, disrespect of elders, and making trouble for leaders. The final story, Mole Rat on his Way to the Mountains, is fun.
