- en_US I know enough about this book now to guess that it will not be of particular use to anyone doing fable research. I include it here to spare some future researcher the trouble of looking far into the book. Pinget himself describes it in a letter quoted on the flyleaf as a love story, or rather the story of a betrayal. The man betrayed doesn't cry out for vengeance, he is prostrated. I made an attempt at getting into the book but was hindered by a style that prefers sentences without predicates. This book was withdrawn by its former owner, the Abington Free Library in Pennsylvania.
