- Abstract
- en_US A disappointing book. A helpful introduction gives some sense of the genesis and context of these little works. They are mostly snippets playing with conundrums, language, and nonsense. Good and typical of the book's material is the In Egypt paragraph in the Hongdorsh Says and Ways section (71). Onkadonk Dreams, Drooms, Dromes (75) begin to approach being fables. Fables themselves begin on 85. Among the best: Nothing in the Box (92), Five Book Thieves (103), Two Toads and a Chinese Lily (104), Sixty and Sixty-six (105), and The Careful Straw People (107).
