Abstract

en_US Here is a small (4¼ x 5¾) edition of thirty-four of Luther's fables, along with short comments, a list of sources, and a T of C. The texts and morals are faithful to Luther. New to me are Vom Esel im Kahn (49), a good conundrum-fable, and Vom Marcolf und König Salomon (55). The woodcuts are lively. My favorites include FM (19) and Vom Ichneumon und dem Krokodil (45). I do not think that I have any other books by religious groups in the DDR!
