Abstract: en_US This classroom text has a unit of fifteen pages on fables and also includes three fables of Phaedrus later on in a unit on Greeks and Romans (278-9). The fable unit caught my eye in this drug-store that seems to be a major supplier of used books and magazines. It starts with animal stories of Kipling and of Walt Disney. Next comes an illustration from Java of TT and a text of it from the Jatakas. From La Fontaine comes Le cochet, le chat et le souriceau and DW with good cartoons from Chabot, and FM, with a classic engraving.. There are two pages of language activities of all sorts. The unit is set between units on water and animals.
