- Abstract
- en_US This is a curious production! It consists of eight pages roughly the size and shape of a feather bound together at their bottom by a screw and nut, with a multi-colored string attached and at their top by a thin thread that allows them to separate a little over two inches from each other. On the obverse of the six interior feathers are drawings of two people -- drawn almost as stick-persons -- conversing with each other in alternating poses of facing each other and facing away from each other. The conversation goes on in three rounds using, respectively, cake, telephones, and coffee. On the last feather there is a text starting with this paragraph: I have a friend named Mary. We are very different but we share a special connection. Martin then tells the fable. She adds: Mary and I let each other be the peacock once in a while. My, what fables provoke!
