Abstract

en_US Here is a republication of the 1947 original by Simon and Schuster, printed in the USA. Let me include my comments from there. This Golden Book has ninety-two pages for twenty-three stories taken from Disney materials, especially Song of the South. The dialect is strong but easily handled. The art is vintage Disney. Stories I enjoyed and/or found new on this trip through included Brer Bear an de Bag Full of Turkeys (17), Doctor Rabbit Cures de King (19), Why de Cricket Fambly Lives in Chimbleys (23), How Craney-Crow Kept His Head (33), and Brer Rabbit's Money Machine (39). The observation of the crane in his new territory that all the birds here take off their heads at night is spectacular! This copy is new and in much better condition than my 1947 original. Uncle Remus stories are always fun!
