- Abstract
- en_US Unnumbered fables on numbered pages 5-54. No appendix. The illustrations are imitations of those in, e.g., the volume I have listed under 1845?. The covers and format seem typical for Insel publications. Here the cover has blue stars within white circles on a yellow background. Are we to think that Insel hired a copyist to create new illustrations modeled on those in the more original editions? Should we also presume that there is no problem with calling these Speckter's illustrations when they are really only after Speckter?
