- Abstract
- en_US Nine stories receive four pages apiece in this large-format (8¾" x 10¾") book with highly stylized illustrations. One feature of the style is the engaging distention of one part of a creature's body. Thus, in GA, it is as though the grasshopper's wings and the ants' legs hardly exist! The tour-de-force of this style is, I believe, the lion who becomes almost sausage like. Has his body become a parody of a "Kirkwall" product with three sections? Another impressive character is the ox in OF, who resembles a watermelon with a nose. A second feature of this style is the inclusion of some objects in virtual photographic exactness. Notice the trademarked pitchers in FS, the city pasta in TMCM, and the meat in FC. It all makes for an engaging experience of the fables. Well done! First published in 2012 in Italian.
