Abstract: en_US "Fresh Fables to Read on an Empty Stomach." 214 pages. About 4" x 6 1/2". I have been able to learn that Bettencourt, who died in 2006, was a visual as well as literary artist. This expensive and potentially rare little volume without visual art is not only a first edition but one of 33 numbered copies. It consists of ten sections outllined in a T of C at the close of the book. The following page indicates, I believe, when each of the sections was first published. I tried several. They seem to be challenging prose short stories, only metaphorically fables.
