- Abstract
- en_US Just reading through the beginning T of C makes my mouth water. There is here significant discussion of so many things I have wondered about. I wish, for example, that I had had the chance to consult his chapter on Boner when I gave a paper on Edelstein some years ago. Grubmüller works patiently through the ancient sources into the various uses and collections of fables in the Middle Ages, including their German as well as Latin forms. As befits a good Habilitationsschrift, there are copious tables and lists at the back, including an index of various fables referred to. I am in fact a little surprised that a copy of this book had not yet found its way into the collection. I am so glad that we have it now!
