- Abstract
- en_US Translation from Turkish to Icelandic of 55 fables by Nasreddin; 100 pages. Gislason is a well known Icelandic poet. Online sources describe the figure of Nasreddin as a Seljuk satirist in the thirteenth century. He is a wisdom figure as the subject of many stories, sometimes as a wise fool: "sometimes witty, sometimes wise, but often, too, a fool or the butt of a joke." Wikipedia does mention Aesopic fables as a comparison to some of the many stories, though I believe that Till Eulenspiegel might be an even more apt comparison. There is a T of C at the end.
