- Abstract
- en_US Here is another updated version of the 2001 "Bright Sparks" edition. Like the 2003 edition, this book no longer makes reference to a place for "The Complete Works," as it had there. As in 2003 edition, the covers have lost one complexifying element in their design: a section near the spine done in a solid color and featuring mention of "Bright Sparks." The title-page and the spine continue to have a "P" that they did not have before. The book is printed now not in Italy but in China. The story is the same, and so I repeat my comment from there. This version of TH sets out to have fun with the story. After the race's start, we read this of Hare: "When there was no one to show off for, he slowed down just a bit." When Tortoise--unusually upright in this version, I think--comes upon Hare sleeping, he does not wake him and says "He must have a reason for sleeping. He would only be angry if I woke him!"
