- Abstract
- en_US Here is a rather large collection of stories arranged by country of origin. I at first wondered if there were in fact any fables among these various stories, which include such things as the tale of the Wife of Bath and King Lear. Yes, there are several fables. I take note of these: "The Greedy and the Envious" (#11 on 34); "The Always Against It Wife" (whose corpse should float upstream, #37 on 177); "The Cat and the Fox" (#52 on 232); "The Fox and the Wolf at the Well" (#53 on 233); "The Widow of Ephesus" (#67 on 329); and "The King's New Clothes" (#78 on 365). The spine is weakening in this large book.
