- Abstract
- en_US This sixteen-page two-staple pamphlet (9¼" x 6¼") has simple drawings and sometimes non-idiomatic prose with a few errors to tell an unusual version of this fable. In this story, the single rabbit central character is perennially phobic. She will not leave home for fear. She sleeps with her eyes open. One day, she becomes so thirsty that she adventures out to the water. There is no mention here of the usual motif of suicide. In this version, she becomes afraid when the frogs splash into the water. However, she overcomes her fear. "Nothing can make me scared anymore." Her scaring the frogs becomes a supplementary fact. The best image may be the terrified rabbit on 5.
