- Abstract
- en_US This 24-page two-staple pamphlet almost 4" square offers good illustrations on its right-hand pages. They regularly spill over onto the left-hand pages, which feature prose text. This extended fable starts with the crow stealing an "Ecke" of cheese from a farm window. The artist enjoys changing point of view, as when he looks straight down on crow and fox as they first meet. When he first hears the fox's praise, the crow wonders why he had not come upon such thoughts himself. "If you add a voice to your form, you would be the noblest creature hereabouts." As the fox runs from the scene with the cheese, the Hausfrau throws a wooden spoon at him in anger! In fact, she hits him and he spends three days in bed with a headache! He even loses his appetite for cheese. What a surprise ending!
