Abstract: en_US "Neununddreissig farbige Zeichnungen." I have long treasured this book from a dear friend. It is witty to an extreme, and its colored illustrations bring out the liveliest and funniest in its 39 aphorisms. I have long hesitated to include the book in the fable collection, even though I wanted to because -- honestly admitted -- I like it so much! This time through I decided to track aphorisms that carry out well known fables. Without trying too hard, I quickly found six. They include the singing crow (#2); the tree owner (#5); "Grosse Herren" (#17); "Wenn zwei sich streiten" (#18); "Viel Wissen" (#22); and "Wer am Wege baut" #30). The best of German humor!
