- Abstract
- en_US This lovely pamphlet of eight pages is first of all a treasure because I found it offered on AbeBooks as I continued to consider whether I would purchase AbeBooks' version reduced to $120! That copy has a laid in card from Howard & Marie Coggeshall. I am willing to sacrifice the card for $110! The telling also makes this pamphlet special. It has the droll Tom Smith first asking the two if they really want to go to court with him as judge. Then, once he has consumed the oyster, he explains to them that that is the way court works, and learning that working is worth an oyster. The two laugh heartily. This version includes the original Columbian Spelling-Book image of the three men in their hats and formal coats. 4½" x 6".
