- Abstract
- en_US The title translates as "The Mouse and the Lion." This is a children's book of 24 fables on 48 pages, with a T of C at the end. 5¾" x 7¾". Many fables are presented on two facing pages, and so a "before" and "after" viewpoint is natural. The artist regularly overdoes the action or reaction in the fable. Thus the donkey is leaping at the startled owner in DL (9). I am happy to see "The Donkey and the Horse" dramatized as strongly as it deserves. The donkey's load and the donkey himself are being carried end the end by the patient but exasperated horse (23).
