- Abstract
- en_US Here is a small (3¼ x 5¼) book of 402 pages. Ornées de Figures is true but the claim usually means more. There are three plates of three panels each, done in their own style. The fables illustrated are DW, LM, The Wolf Turned Shepherd, The Donkey and the Lapdog, The Stag and the Vine, The Lion and the Hunter, The Lion's Court, The Rat and the Elephant, and The Cat and the Fox. The illustrations face 4, 80, and 163. There is a fine illustration also on the title-page: La Fontaine writing looks to Aesop, who points to a fox. AI at the end. The leather covers and spine are well worn. Not in Bodemann.
